The coming of age of a child is an exciting time for all families!
It is approached with both a happy and a tearful eye.
Once you held your child in your arms with pride and happiness, and then you blinked, and suddenly they become a teenager and just as quickly an adult.
For many parents and families, the free and individual development of their child plays an important role.
Many parents and families wish for a ceremony that focuses on their child’s coming of age, in addition to or instead of the Christian confirmation or communion.
To not have to forgo a solemn ceremony,
a rite of passage ceremony, also known as a non-religious youth initiation, is a suitable option.
It can be a small or grand celebration, in which godparents and companions can play a role, and symbolic actions can be incorporated.
What matters most are your own ideas and desires.
I would be happy to advise you in a personal conversation in detail.
There are many ways to design and conduct a bilingual ceremony.
As a native English speaker who has lived in Germany for over twenty years, I am more than willing to conduct your Rite of passage ceremony / Non-religious Youth Initiation in both English and German.
However, I am also happy to conduct it exclusively in German or exclusively in English. Partial translations are also possible.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know your family and having the opportunity to create and celebrate a very personal and emotional Rite of passage ceremony / Non-religious Youth Initiation
with you.
